Vivian is the hero you level for the map, not the arena: her third skill adds 30% to the damage your troop deals to creeps, her stars cut the fuel each fight costs, and her talent lets several of your troops hit the same creep at once.
- Class: ATK
- Faction: Blood Rose (Assaulter troops)
- Rarity: purple (A)
- Arrived: the base roster
- In one line: the creep-hunting specialist, with a talent that changes how boss fights work
Skill numbers on this page are the level 30 values, which is the cap.

What Vivian does in Last Z
Vivian fights with cards. Magic Cards raises the damage of her normal attacks. Card Trick sends the cards spinning through a circular area for three seconds at a damage factor of 1280, and its stars widen the circle and stretch the duration. Both are purple-grade skills, and neither is why you’ll level her.
Born of Fire is. It’s a Global Effect that raises the damage your troop deals when fighting creeps by 30% at the cap, and its star bonuses are the practical kind: the first two each cut the fuel a fight costs by one, the third cuts the fuel for challenging boomers by two more, the fourth adds 10% damage, and the fifth makes the whole effect apply to the entire formation whether Vivian is in it or not.
Her talent, Field Specialist, is a single sentence in the game: multiple troops can attack the same creep. For a boss on the map that means your second and third formations can pile onto the target your first one is already fighting, which turns a long solo grind into a short one.
So she’s the hero for everything outside the walls. Zombies on the map, boomers, the bosses that take several marches. Inside the walls and in the arena, the orange heroes do that work.
Is Vivian worth it for F2P?
Yes, and early. She comes from block missions and the Club’s recruitment, purple fragments are cheap, and the skill that matters is at hero level 30. Fuel is the one resource that caps how much map fighting a free player can do in a day, and two stars on Born of Fire cut the cost of every creep fight by two fuel before she’s even hit the boomer discount. Over a week that’s a lot of extra fights.
The fifth star is the one worth planning for. Until then, Born of Fire needs her in the squad to apply; from five stars it applies to every formation you send out, and she can go back to the barracks.
Vivian’s skills and stats
| Skill | Type | What it does at level 30 | What each star adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magic Cards | Normal Attack Boost | Increases normal attacks’ damage factor to 750. | +45, +45, +45, then +60 and +105 to the damage factor |
| Card Trick | Active Skill | Controls the cards to attack enemies in a circular area at damage factor 1280, lasting 3 seconds. | +90 damage factor, +90 damage factor, damage range +30%, +200 damage factor, then duration +1 second |
| Born of Fire | Global Effect | When fighting creeps, damage dealt by the troop she leads increases by 30%. | Fuel cost -1, fuel cost -1, boomer challenge fuel cost -2, damage dealt +10%, then the effect applies to the entire formation regardless of her deployment |
| Field Specialist | Exclusive Talent | Multiple troops can attack the same creep. | The talent itself; no star steps |
Her attack, defence and troop size climb with her level, stars, skill levels and gear, so the live figures are on her hero card in your own game. As a purple hero she starts below the orange roster and caps lower.
The upgrade order that gets the most out of her:
- Level her to 30. Born of Fire switches on there.
- Two stars straight away. That’s two fuel off every creep fight, which pays back faster than anything else on her card.
- Skill books into Born of Fire. Up to 30% creep damage at the cap.
- Level 50 and four stars for Field Specialist, before the next map boss you plan to gang up on.
- Five stars when the fragments allow, so the whole effect runs from the barracks.
- Card Trick, then Magic Cards. Her own damage, last.
How to get Vivian fragments
Vivian is one of the free roster: block missions hand her out, and she turns up in the Club’s recruitment and the shop’s special offers. Her stars take purple fragments, which the game pays out far more freely than orange ones, through recruitment pulls, daily missions and event rewards.
She wants five stars more than most purple heroes do, because the fifth is the one that lets Born of Fire run without her in the squad.
Vivian’s best formation and faction pairing
Until five stars, Born of Fire needs her deployed, so she leads the creep-hunting squad. Keep that squad Blood Rose for Oliveira’s per-hero bonus if Oliveira is in it, and remember the faction triangle applies to creeps the same as to players: Wings of Dawn beats Blood Rose, Blood Rose beats Guard of Order, and Guard of Order beats Wings of Dawn.
Who to put beside her on the map:
- Katrina, who takes the hits a creep squad draws.
- Selena, whose talent buffs every Assaulter’s damage.
- Ava and Miranda if the orange heroes are busy elsewhere; their faction talents help from the barracks either way.
Once she’s at five stars, drop her from the squad and give the slot to whoever hits hardest. Her bonus comes with them.
Best build and gear for Vivian
Hero gear fills four slots: Gun, Helmet, Armor and Boots. The Gun boosts attack, the Helmet attack and defence, Armor defence and troop HP, and Boots a mix of all three. Gear levels up with enhancement alloys and promotes with power cores.
Cores belong to the orange heroes. While Vivian leads the creep squad, hand-me-down gear is enough, and if you have a choice, the Gun helps Card Trick more than anything else. Once her fifth star sends her to the barracks, she needs no gear at all.
Vivian vs the alternatives at the same role
| Hero | Faction | Rarity | What she’s for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vivian | Blood Rose | purple | Creep damage, fuel savings, and several troops on one creep |
| Katrina | Blood Rose | orange | Exploration EXP and daily fuel, account-wide |
| Laura | Wings of Dawn | orange | Free radar events daily and more EXP from them |
Nobody else on the roster does what Field Specialist does. The nearest neighbours are the other map-economy skills: Katrina’s exploration bonus and Laura’s radar bonus pay out EXP and fuel on their own schedules, while Vivian makes the fights themselves cheaper and faster. An account that lives on the map wants all three, and Vivian is the cheapest of them to star.
Where she lands against the whole roster is on the tier list. For what to do with her in your first day, the beginner’s progression guide covers it.
