Sophia is the hero whose third skill builds your base faster, account-wide, and that alone is reason to level her to 30 even if she never marches.
- Class: DPS
- Faction: Blood Rose (Assaulter troops)
- Rarity: orange (S)
- Arrived: the base roster
- In one line: an attacker with a construction skill that works for the whole account
Skill numbers on this page are the level 30 values, which is the cap.

What Sophia does in Last Z
Sophia fights like Katrina and builds like nobody else. Two of her four skills are about her own damage: Doom Hunter raises the damage factor of her normal attacks, and Apocalypse Fury calls a mobile troop in for a fierce assault on the target at a damage factor of 2400. Her talent, unlocked late, buffs her own attack, defence and troop capacity.
Her third skill is the reason she’s on most players’ must-level list, and it never fires in a fight. Princess’s Gift raises construction speed by 40% at full level and extends free construction time by 90 minutes, and it’s a Global Effect: it applies to your base whether she’s deployed or sitting in the barracks. Every building you queue from the day you unlock it finishes sooner.
So there are two Sophias. The one in a Blood Rose squad, hitting hard beside Katrina and Selena. And the one who never leaves the barracks and still saves you hours of build time every week. Most accounts run the second one first.
Is Sophia worth it for F2P?
Yes, and the maths is simple. Princess’s Gift unlocks at hero level 30 and works account-wide from that moment. Levels come from play, skill books come from play, and every point you put into the skill is a percentage off every build timer you’ll ever queue. Construction is the slowest part of the game for a free player, and a 40% speed boost at the cap is the single largest construction bonus any hero gives you.
Her stars matter less than her level. The star bonuses on Princess’s Gift add free construction time, more speed and a resource discount, which is lovely, but the base effect at level 30 is where most of the value sits. For a free player the plan is level 30, then skill books into Princess’s Gift, and only then decide whether she fights.
Sophia’s skills and stats
| Skill | Type | Unlocks at | What it does at level 30 | What each star adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Doom Hunter | Normal Attack Boost | hero level 1 | Increases normal attacks’ damage factor to 1500. | +90, +90, +90, then +120 and +210 to the damage factor |
| Apocalypse Fury | Active Skill | hero level 20 | Calls for a mobile troop for support, launching a fierce assault on the target at damage factor 2400. | +150 damage factor, supportive troops +2, +150 damage factor, supportive troops +3, then +300 damage factor |
| Princess’s Gift | Global Effect | hero level 30 | Construction speed +40% and free construction time +90 minutes, account-wide. | Free construction time +15 minutes, construction speed +10%, free construction time +60 minutes, building resource cost -5%, then -10% |
| Potential Unleashed | Exclusive Talent | hero level 50 and 4 stars | Self ATK +10%, DEF +10% and troop capacity +5%. | The talent itself; no star steps |
Her attack, defence and troop size climb with her level, her stars, her skill levels and her gear, so the live figures are on her hero card in your own game. As an orange hero she starts well above a purple one and caps higher.
The upgrade order that gets the most out of her:
- Level her to 30. Princess’s Gift switches on there. Nothing else matters until it does.
- Skill books into Princess’s Gift. Every level is a bigger construction bonus for the whole account.
- Stars, as fragments allow. The first and third stars add free construction time, the second adds speed, the fourth and fifth cut building costs.
- Level 50 and four stars for Potential Unleashed, if she fights for you.
- Apocalypse Fury, then Doom Hunter. Both only matter when she’s in the squad.
Best build and gear for Sophia
Hero gear fills four slots: Gun, Helmet, Armor and Boots. The Gun boosts attack, the Helmet attack and defence, Armor defence and troop HP, and Boots a mix of all three. Gear levels up with enhancement alloys and promotes with power cores, and promotion is where the big stat jumps live, so the cores go to the hero who actually fights.
If Sophia is your construction skill and nothing more, give her no gear at all. Princess’s Gift doesn’t read her stats; levels and skill books are the whole investment.
If she fights, build her as the attacker she is. Both of her combat skills scale her own damage output, so the Gun comes first, the Helmet second for the attack it adds, then Boots, and Armor last. That’s the opposite end of the slot order from a pure defender, and it matches what her skills reward.
How to get Sophia fragments
Sophia comes through Prime Recruitment Tickets, the premium pull, so the tickets you earn from events and milestones are the direct route to her and to her stars. The game has also offered her through special offers in the shop, which rotate, so a look at what’s on sale costs nothing.
Beyond that, the orange fragments the game pays out on a schedule are what you’ll feed her once she’s unlocked. Most of them are universal and work on any S hero; a few are tied to one hero, so check the item before you count on it.
- Daily Tasks. 150 points on the Daily Tasks page pays one orange fragment.
- Full Preparedness. 18 medals trade for two orange fragments.
- Gold Trucks. Sending and looting them is the steady source most players overlook.
- Weekly gifts. Six orange fragments a week, claimed, not earned.
- The Z Points store sells S fragments five at a time for diamonds. The diamond guide covers whether that’s a good use of them.
- VIP 10 adds daily orange fragments, a route for spenders rather than a plan.
For Sophia the fourth star is a smaller milestone than it is for a pure fighter. It unlocks her talent, which matters if she marches, but the construction bonus is already running by then.
Sophia’s best formation and faction pairing
A formation carries five heroes and their troops, and Blood Rose heroes field Assaulters. Three of her faction-mates’ talents are the reason to keep the squad Blood Rose rather than mixed. Oliveira’s gives the troop +5% attack and defence for every Blood Rose hero deployed and +10% troop capacity at five. Bella’s gives the troop +10% HP when all five are Blood Rose. Selena’s gives every Assaulter unit +10% damage whether or not she’s deployed.
The faction triangle is the other thing to keep in mind: Wings of Dawn beats Blood Rose, Blood Rose beats Guard of Order, and Guard of Order beats Wings of Dawn. A Blood Rose squad with Sophia in it is at its best against Guard of Order and at a disadvantage against Wings of Dawn. The triangle shifts a fight; it doesn’t decide one.
Who to put beside her, keeping the squad Blood Rose:
- Oliveira first. Her talent is the squad bonus itself, and it pays per Blood Rose hero.
- Katrina as the defender, with her own attack skills for company.
- Selena for the Assaulter damage every troop in the squad collects.
- Yu Chan or Bella for the fifth slot: Yu Chan for raw damage, Bella for the troop HP bonus that only switches on when all five are Blood Rose.
That line-up is built on the faction bonuses first and role coverage second. If your Blood Rose roster is thinner, keep as many of them in as you can, since Oliveira’s bonus counts each one.
Sophia vs the alternatives at the same role
| Hero | Faction | Rarity | What she’s for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sophia | Blood Rose | orange | An attacker, and the construction skill on top |
| Yu Chan | Blood Rose | orange | The Season 4 damage dealer, built to hit and nothing else |
| Selena | Blood Rose | orange | Damage, plus +10% to every Assaulter unit whether or not she’s deployed |
| Oliveira | Blood Rose | orange | The squad bonus, plus an Assaulter training-speed skill for the base |

Read the table as roles, not a ranking. Yu Chan is the better pick when the slot is about damage and nothing else. Selena and Oliveira, like Sophia, carry a skill that works for the whole account, which is why the four of them keep turning up together in Blood Rose line-ups.
What none of the alternatives offer is the construction bonus. If your base has a queue and your timers feel long, Sophia at level 30 is the fix, and that’s true before she’s ever fired a shot.
Where she lands against the whole roster is on the tier list. For what to do with her in your first day, the beginner’s progression guide covers it.
