Maria in Last Z: Survival Shooter

Maria in Last Z: the account-wide troop training skill, the +5% troop capacity talent, her hammer, and why a free player levels her early.

Maria is the purple Guard of Order hero whose talent adds 5% to your troop capacity and whose third skill speeds up all troop training, account-wide, which makes her a base hero worth level 30 and four stars before she ever swings her hammer.

  • Class: SUP
  • Faction: Guard of Order (Rider troops)
  • Rarity: purple (A)
  • Arrived: the base roster
  • In one line: a hammer-wielding support whose talent is troop capacity and whose account skill is training speed

What Maria does in Last Z

Maria swings a war hammer. Hammer Strike raises the damage of her normal attacks, and Doom Judgement is her active, a ground slam that damages everything in range with a chance to knock the enemy back, which her stars make more likely and stronger. Both are purple-grade combat skills.

Her third skill is the one to level. Training Expert is a Global Effect that raises troop training speed for the whole account, up to 50% at the cap, and its stars add more speed and cut the resources training costs. It isn’t limited to Riders the way the orange heroes’ training skills are limited to one troop type; it covers everything you train.

Her talent, Faction Commander, raises troop capacity by 5%. It’s a flat bonus to how many troops a march carries, it unlocks at level 50 with four stars, and purple fragments make that a quick target.

Is Maria worth it for F2P?

Yes, and early. She comes through the Club’s standard recruitment, her fragments are purple, and both of her useful effects run from the barracks. Training speed is the throttle on how fast a new base grows its army, and a bonus that applies to every troop type is worth more to a free player than any one hero’s combat numbers. The capacity talent is a smaller, permanent bonus on top.

She never needs a formation slot in a mature account. Level her to 30, put books into Training Expert, star her to four, and leave her in the barracks working.

Maria’s skills and stats

Hammer StrikeNormal Attack BoostRaises the damage factor of her normal attacks. Grows with skill level.+45, +45, +45, then +60 and +105 to the damage factor
Doom JudgementActive SkillSlams the ground with the heavy hammer, damaging enemies within range.+90 damage factor, +90 damage factor, a chance to knock back, +220 damage factor, then a stronger knockback
Training ExpertGlobal EffectRaises troop training speed for the whole account, up to +50% at the cap.More training speed and lower training resource costs at each star
Faction CommanderExclusive TalentTroop capacity increases by 5%.The talent itself; no star steps

Her attack, defence and troop size climb with her level, stars, skill levels and gear, so the live figures are on her hero card in your own game. As a purple hero she starts below the orange roster and caps lower.

The upgrade order that gets the most out of her:

  1. Level her to 30 and put skill books into Training Expert. The account-wide bonus is the first payoff.
  2. Four stars and level 50 for Faction Commander. A permanent 5% on every march’s capacity.
  3. Nothing on her combat skills. They don’t matter.

How to get Maria fragments

Maria comes through Hero Recruitment Tickets at the Club. Her stars take purple fragments, which the game hands out far more freely than orange ones, through recruitment pulls, daily missions and event rewards. Four stars is the milestone for the talent.

Best build and gear for Maria

Hero gear fills four slots: Gun, Helmet, Armor and Boots. Give Maria none. Neither her training skill nor her talent reads her gear, and cores belong to the orange heroes who fight.

Maria’s best formation and faction pairing

Both of her useful effects run from the barracks, so she doesn’t need a formation. If your roster is thin enough that she’s filling a slot, keep that squad Guard of Order for Evelyn’s per-hero bonus, and remember the faction triangle: Guard of Order beats Wings of Dawn, Wings of Dawn beats Blood Rose, and Blood Rose beats Guard of Order.

If she marches, keep the squad Guard of Order:

  • Elizabeth and Leah, the purple pair whose faction talents are running anyway.
  • Any orange Guard of Order hero your first formation can spare.

Maria vs the alternatives at the same role

HeroFactionRarityWhat she’s for
MariaGuard of OrderpurpleTroop training speed for every troop type, and +5% troop capacity
EvelynGuard of OrderorangeRider training speed up to 70%, and the squad bonus
OliveiraBlood RoseorangeAssaulter training speed up to 70%, and the squad bonus

The orange season heroes train one troop type faster and faster; Maria trains everything faster, by less. The two aren’t rivals: an account with both has Evelyn’s 70% on Riders and Maria’s bonus on top of every camp. Her capacity talent has no equivalent on a cheaper hero.

Where she lands against the whole roster is on the tier list. For what to do with her in your first day, the beginner’s progression guide covers it.
