Amber in Last Z: Survival Shooter

Amber in Last Z: the Season 4 Guard of Order carry, her Carnage Feast multiplier, the faction-wide talent, and how to get her without the shop.

Amber is the Season 4 damage dealer for Guard of Order, and her talent hands her skill-damage bonus to every Guard of Order hero in the troop while making the whole squad hit Shooters harder and take less from Assaulters.

  • Class: DPS
  • Faction: Guard of Order (Rider troops)
  • Rarity: orange (S)
  • Arrived: Season 4, Dinosaur Origin
  • In one line: the Guard of Order carry, with a faction-wide skill-damage talent

What Amber does in Last Z

Amber swings a greatsword. Her normal-attack skill raises the damage of every hit, and the Season 4 heroes start that skill higher than any launch hero does. Her active is a short, heavy slam: high damage in a small window rather than steady output. Carnage Feast raises her own skill damage by a percentage that climbs with skill level, which is the multiplier that makes everything else on her card bigger.

Her talent is where she stops being a solo carry. Dread Giant applies Carnage Feast to all in-troop Guard of Order heroes, so the skill-damage bonus she built for herself lands on Mia, Chinatsu and Evelyn too. The same talent gives the troop +10% damage against enemy Shooter units and 10% less damage taken from Assaulters, which is the Guard of Order leg of the faction triangle written into a hero.

So she’s the Season 4 answer to “who does the damage in a Guard of Order squad”. With her, it’s her job, and the rest of the squad gets stronger for standing beside her.

Is Amber worth it for F2P?

She’s worth it, and she’s reachable. Season 4 heroes arrive through their own battle pass during the season’s first six weeks, and after that the passes rotate into hero fragments and a dedicated Season 4 recruitment tab that runs on S4 Recruitment Tickets from Glory Wars and seasonal rewards. A free player who plays the season’s events ends up with a route to her that doesn’t go through the shop.

What she needs is investment once she’s here. Her damage scales with skill levels and gear, and her talent only pays the faction once it’s unlocked at level 50 with four stars. She’s a long project, but she’s the one Guard of Order project that keeps paying as the account grows.

Amber’s skills and stats

SkillTypeWhat it doesWhat each star adds
Normal attack skillNormal Attack BoostRaises the damage factor of her normal attacks, to 2010 at level 30.+120, +120, +120, then +150 and +300 to the damage factor
Greatsword slamActive SkillA short-duration greatsword slam for heavy damage, at damage factor 3200 at level 30.More damage and extra swings, alternating star by star
Carnage FeastSelf Skill DMGRaises her own skill damage by a percentage that climbs with skill level, up to +25% at level 30.Self skill DMG +1.5%, +1.5%, +2%, +2%, then +3%
Dread GiantExclusive TalentCarnage Feast applies to all in-troop Guard of Order heroes. The troop deals +10% damage to enemy Shooter units and takes 10% less damage from Assaulter units. The talent itself; no star steps

Her attack, defence and troop size climb with her level, stars, skill levels and gear, so the live figures are on her hero card in your own game. The Season 4 heroes start above the launch roster on their skill numbers, which shows in the 2010 on her normal attacks and the 3200 on her active against the 1500 and 2400 the launch heroes cap at.

The upgrade order that gets the most out of her:

  1. Level her and put skill books into Carnage Feast first. It multiplies everything else she does, and her talent will later hand it to the whole troop.
  2. Her active next. Her burst.
  3. Level 50 and four stars for Dread Giant. The moment the faction gets her bonus.
  4. Her normal attack last. It’s already high.

Best build and gear for Amber

Hero gear fills four slots: Gun, Helmet, Armor and Boots. The Gun boosts attack, the Helmet attack and defence, Armor defence and troop HP, and Boots a mix of all three. Gear levels up with enhancement alloys and promotes with power cores, and promotion is where the big stat jumps live.

Amber is the hero the cores are for in a Guard of Order squad. She’s an attacker whose own skill damage is her whole job, so the Gun comes first and gets promoted first, the Helmet second, then Boots, Armor last.

How to get Amber fragments

Amber was the third of Season 4’s three heroes, released with her own battle pass in the season’s opening weeks. After the first six weeks the passes rotate into hero and exclusive-weapon fragments, and the game opens a dedicated Season 4 recruitment tab that takes S4 Recruitment Tickets, earned mainly through Glory Wars and seasonal rewards.

Once she’s unlocked, the orange fragments the game pays out on a schedule are what you’ll feed her. Most of them are universal and work on any S hero; a few are tied to one hero, so check the item before you count on it.

  • Daily Tasks. 150 points on the Daily Tasks page pays one orange fragment.
  • Full Preparedness. 18 medals trade for two orange fragments.
  • Gold Trucks. Sending and looting them is the steady source most players overlook.
  • Weekly gifts. Six orange fragments a week, claimed, not earned.
  • The Z Points store sells S fragments five at a time for diamonds. The diamond guide covers whether that’s a good use of them.
  • VIP 10 adds daily orange fragments, a route for spenders rather than a plan.

Four stars is the milestone, because that’s where Dread Giant unlocks.

Amber’s best formation and faction pairing

A formation carries five heroes and their troops, and Guard of Order heroes field Riders. Amber’s talent is faction-wide, so every Guard of Order hero beside her collects her skill-damage bonus, and the squad’s +10% against Shooters points it straight at Wings of Dawn, the faction the triangle already favours her against. Guard of Order beats Wings of Dawn, Wings of Dawn beats Blood Rose, and Blood Rose beats Guard of Order; her talent sharpens the leg she was already winning and softens the Assaulters that Blood Rose brings.

Who to put beside her, keeping the squad Guard of Order:

  • Evelyn for the per-hero squad bonus.
  • Mia as the defender.
  • Sakura for the Rider damage every troop collects.
  • Chinatsu or Harleyna for the fifth slot: Chinatsu’s sword skills collect Amber’s bonus, Harleyna’s talent adds troop HP at five.

Amber vs the alternatives at the same role

QueenieWings of DawnorangeThe same design for Wings of Dawn, +10% vs Assaulters
ChinatsuGuard of OrderorangeThe launch-roster attacker, with the Alliance Duel skill

The three Season 4 heroes are one design in three factions: a carry whose self-buff becomes a faction buff at four stars, pointed at the troop type the faction already beats. Which one you want is which faction you run. Inside Guard of Order, Chinatsu is the attacker you had before Amber arrived, and she stays useful because her duel skill works from the barracks; the damage slot itself belongs to Amber.

Where she lands against the whole roster is on the tier list. For what to do with her in your first day, the beginner’s progression guide covers it.
