Dinosaur Origin in Last Z: Survival Shooter

Dinosaur Origin in Last Z (Season 4, or 3 on newer states): the Biotech Lab, Fern Leaves and eggs, Licia, Liliana and Dodomeki, and Sunday’s Ancient Dinos.

Dinosaur Origin is Season 4 (Season 3 on states that skipped the Desert season), 91 days in a Jurassic jungle where a Biotech Lab sets which dinosaurs you can fight, four Bio Greenhouses grow the Fern Leaves that feed it, three new heroes arrive one pair of weeks at a time, and the weekend belongs to the Ancient Dinos and the egg shop.

  • Which season: Season 4 if your state played Desert, Season 3 if it didn’t
  • How long: 91 days, thirteen weeks, the longest season the game has run
  • The map: reset at the start, every city neutral, four states grouped for the season
  • The currencies: Fern Leaves, Cretaceous Scales, Ancient Dino Eggs, Pine Cones, Dino Feed, Fossils
  • The heroes: Licia, Liliana and Dodomeki (Yu Chan, Queenie and Amber on other regions’ clients), released in weeks 1, 3 and 5
  • What goes at the end: the season buildings, the resource tiles, the city ownership, the hatched dinosaur’s bonus and skin; your heroes and your Specialization to level 50 stay

Which season Dinosaur Origin is, and when it runs

The publisher dropped the original second season and renumbered, so states that played the desert count Dinosaur Origin as Season 4 and newer states count it as Season 3. Same season, same rules, and the game’s own reward items carry the S4 tag on the first kind of state and S3 on the second. This page says 4 and means both.

It runs 91 days. Your state is grouped with three others, the map resets with every city neutral, and the season’s own heroes, buildings and events land on a schedule:

WeeksWhat happens
1 to 2Licia’s release and pass; 30 rewarded dinosaur kills a day; Trade Hubs open but stay inside your own state
3 to 4Liliana’s release and pass; Trade Hubs go cross-state
5 to 6Dodomeki’s release and pass; after week 6 the hero passes rotate into fragment passes
around 7Bones and Eggs Boom switches on and stays on: the daily kill allowance halves to 15 and each rewarded kill pays double Cretaceous Scales and double Ancient Dino Eggs
the last weeksPoints Rush: the Season Loot Point rate rises from 20% to 25%

At the end, the season layer goes: the Biotech Lab and the other season buildings, the resource tiles, the city ownership, and the hatched dinosaur’s attack bonus and vehicle skin. Your Headquarters, troops, research, gear and heroes stay, the three season heroes included, and your Specialization talents carry over up to level 50. City points already earned stay banked even if the city is lost.

What to do before Dinosaur Origin starts

  1. Be at Specialization 30. Below 30 you’re on the Support tree by default; from 30 you choose, and the first weeks want Support.
  2. Bank diamonds for the Trade Hubs. They open in week 1 and sell the season’s badges and exclusive fragments for diamonds. Nothing before the hubs is a better use of them.
  3. Agree the three Alliance Centers. Only the leader and R4s can place them, each on a different tile level, and every season building needs one to sit beside. The plan is made before the map resets, not after.
  4. Pick the hero to chase. One per faction, released in order. Your faction’s hero decides which pass matters and where the season recruitment tickets go.
  5. Don’t drain the vault. The previous season’s last week of resources is this season’s first week of upgrades.

Dinosaur Origin’s buildings and the upgrade order

Six season buildings, all upgraded with Fern Leaves and Cretaceous Scales, all gone at season end.

BuildingHow manyWhat it doesWhen to upgrade
Biotech Lab1Virus resistance, the only source; sets the highest level of dinosaur you can attackFirst, and constantly, until level-60 dinosaurs fall comfortably
Bio Greenhouse4, a fifth with Wartime InvestmentProduces Fern Leaves passivelyAll four on day one, then evenly
Alliance Center3 per allianceThe placement hub for every season buildingDay one, by the leader and R4s
Command Center1Season troop damageAfter the lab clears level 60
Armory2, a third from Combat Specialization 60Season troop attackWith the Fortification, in step
Fortification2Season troop defenceWith the Armory; heavy attack on paper defence loses more than it kills

The order is the one the previous season taught: the resistance building first, the resource building beside it, the three power buildings once the resistance is there. The Biotech Lab’s resistance decides which dinosaurs you can fight, and the dinosaurs are where the Scales and the Eggs come from, so a lab that stalls stalls the season. The power buildings are strong and not urgent; the week-one account that puts Scales into a Command Center is the one still fighting level-30 raptors in week four.

The lab’s job is level 60. Once level-60 Velociraptors and Stegosaurus fall without trouble, the lab stops being mandatory, the power buildings start, and that’s also the moment to think about switching Specialization to Combat. Each building has its own recipe on its screen; nobody has published a cost table, and this page won’t invent one.

The creatures, and what they cost:

Stegosaurus16 to 20, a rallyAny time, to level 60Scales and Ancient Dino Eggs; every capped attempt goes here first

Black Market GuardianrallySunday, to level 350Revealed by beating Predator Squads; the Spinosaurus rescue
Ancient Dinono limitSunday 12:00 Apocalypse TimeThe weekly boss, fossils and titles

The rewarded-kill allowance is 30 a day in the first weeks and 15 after the Boom, with each rewarded kill paying double from then on, so the daily total holds. Spend the allowance on Stegosaurus first, since it drops eggs and raptors don’t, and farm raptors with whatever fuel is left. Predator Squads pay the same 150 eggs whatever their level, so for eggs the lowest tier you can clear is the right one.

The shops. The Bio Institute Shop opens Saturday and Sunday and takes Ancient Dino Eggs; the stock refreshes by hand, the first refresh free and each one after it costing more eggs, up to 14 a weekend, and refresh counts reset on Saturday. Its stock is fossils, Dino Feed, speedups, hero shard chests and season gear chests, often at a discount. The Trade Hubs are the diamond shop, contested Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00 Apocalypse Time; week one is your own state, then cross-state.

Dinosaur Origin’s heroes and the season recruitment

Three season heroes, one per faction, each with an exclusive weapon, each released with its own battle pass two weeks apart:

HeroFactionWeaponRelease
Licia (Yu Chan)Blood RoseWyrm WrathWeeks 1 to 2
Liliana (Queenie)Wings of DawnFirefallWeeks 3 to 4
Dodomeki (Amber)Guard of OrderOne-Hit KillWeeks 5 to 6

The names in brackets are the same heroes on other regions’ clients; the factions, weapons and skills match. Their pages cover the skills; the short version is that each one is built for her faction’s squad, and the three are on the same stat curve, so the choice is your faction, not the numbers.

Past the passes, they come through the season recruitment tab on the season’s recruitment tickets, which the Glory War pays and the season’s milestone chests pay, and after week six the hero passes rotate into hero and weapon fragment passes. The tier list has all three in A, with the condition written beside each: the talent only works with last season’s partner hero in the squad.

Hero Level Swap runs all season. A Level Swapper exchanges hero levels and skill levels between two heroes: levels swap fully, skills swap only between matching slots and only between heroes of the same quality, a skill above the new hero’s star cap is capped with no books refunded, and each skill can be toggled in or out of the swap. It’s one free swap, so it’s for moving a levelled hero’s investment onto the season hero you’ve decided to run, not for experimenting.

Dinosaur Origin’s events, week by week

The always-on events run through the season as before: the Alliance Duel, Full Preparedness, Canyon Clash, Zombie Siege, Furylord, The Tyrant and the rest. The season adds its own layer:

### Ancient Dinos

Every Sunday at 12:00 Apocalypse Time a boss spawns, no attack limit, ranked by total damage, dead in five to fifteen minutes on an active state. The species rotate in order, T-Rex, Triceratops, Pterosaur, Ankylosaurus, Dimetrodon, so each comes round about twice a season. The top three on a species’ first-ever kill on your state take a title (Dino Hunter for the T-Rex week, Horn Sunderer for the Triceratops, Wing Breaker for the Pterosaur), and the ranking pays fossils to the top 200: the top ranks a skull and a wing fossil with purple crates and up to 3,000 diamonds, the ranks down to 200 a fossil and smaller crates, below 200 crates and 500 diamonds and no fossil. Be there ten minutes early with the march parked and the buffs ready; it’s over before a late login arrives.

### Hatch of Legends

Choose one egg for the season, T-Rex, Triceratops or Ankylosaurus, and grow it with Dino Feed: it hatches at level 6, grows up at 11, and every level is +1% Season Troop Attack, +30% at 30. At level 16 your troops take the dinosaur’s skin. Five daily tasks pay the feed and don’t carry over, and Pine Cones feed it at 100 a time. The bonus and the skin go when the season ends.

### Fossil Album

Twenty fossil slots, the top-200 Ancient Dino fossils filling the species pages and the Bio Institute Shop’s fossils the rest. Points milestones at 30, 50, 100, 180, 240 and 300 pay orange hero fragments, exclusive equipment fragments and eggs, and duplicates still count toward the milestones and exchange for Ancient Dino Eggs through the album’s Exchange button; check the offered return before you trade.

### Dino Rescue and the Black Market Guardian

Sunday. Predator Squads and the Guardian attack Headquarters directly during the auction, bypassing the guards, and the Predator Squad reward limit rises to five for the day. Beating squads can reveal a Black Market Guardian, up to level 350; the team landing the final blow gets a Discovery Reward, the kill pays a Kill Reward and counts as a Spinosaurus rescue, and the rescuing alliance then sends scouts to treat the Spinosaurus for up to ten gifts. State tasks completed during the event pay the whole state.

### Dino Egg Defense

The season’s siege. The leader and an R4 can each start it once; 27 waves of dinosaurs hit the alliance’s Headquarters, up to five at a time, and each breach of your Headquarters takes 5% of your Ancient Dino Eggs, capped at 1,000, for at most two breaches. Surviving every round pays 14 Golden Wrenches (Golden Keys on some clients); on one state it took about 900 million wall defence to hold wave 27, so empty the egg vault into the shop before it starts and reinforce a stronger member if your walls won’t hold.

### Clash for Glory

The season’s Glory War: on Monday your alliance picks a rival (the picker attacks), the war is Tuesday, destroying the enemy’s Alliance Center I ends it, and the winner takes 20% of the loser’s season points. Contribution ranking rewards start at 150,000 contribution. Place Alliance Center I before the war; entering without it is an instant loss.

### Bones and Eggs Boom

The mid-season switch, on for the rest of the season: daily Velociraptor and Stegosaurus attempts are halved, Cretaceous Scales and Ancient Dino Eggs per rewarded kill are doubled. The daily total holds; the time it takes halves.

### Volcano War

The ten-day state war, with the battle on day 6 at 12:00 Apocalypse Time in the Defender’s state. The Volcano War page has the phases, the points and the prize pool.

Mistakes that cost you in Dinosaur Origin

  • Scales into a power building in week one. The Biotech Lab decides which dinosaurs you can fight. Lab first, greenhouses beside it, power buildings after level 60.
  • Raptors before Stegosaurus. The allowance is capped and raptors don’t drop eggs. Stegosaurus first, raptors with the leftover fuel.
  • Farming high-level Predator Squads for eggs. 150 eggs at every level. The lowest tier you clear is the egg tier.
  • Logging in late on Sunday. The Ancient Dino is dead in minutes. Ten minutes early, march parked, buffs ready.
  • Skipping the five Hatch tasks. They don’t carry over, and the feed is the dinosaur’s whole growth.
  • Diamonds before the Trade Hubs. The hubs sell the season’s badges and exclusive fragments; nothing earlier is worth the diamonds.
  • Rerolling the Bio Institute Shop with the eggs you needed for a purchase. Refreshes cost more each time; stop while the next refresh still leaves eggs for something worth buying.
  • Eggs in the vault when Dino Egg Defense starts. Each breach takes 5%, up to 1,000. Spend them Saturday.
  • Chasing the Glory leaderboard. There’s no ranking reward on it; the Glory Chest every eight hours is the reward, and it scales with your Glory, not your rank.

Before Dinosaur Origin ends, and what comes next

The last weeks are the Points Rush, when the Season Loot Point rate rises from 20% to 25%, and the week to be in the alliance that wins its Glory War. Spend the eggs before the shop closes with the season, because the Hatch bonus and skin go at the reset and nothing on the game’s screens says unspent eggs or Scales pay out. The three heroes stay, with their levels and the weapon progress; the Specialization talents carry to level 50; the city points you banked are counted at the Season Tally.

Then Moonlit Elegy: a vampire night that lengthens every week, a Serum Lab in the Biotech Lab’s place, no new hero but Red Stars on Oliveira, Scarlett and Evelyn, and a witch with a deck of cards. The Moonlit Elegy page is the one to read in the last fortnight, because its first job, a five-star squad-bonus hero, is done in this season. The seasons hub carries the roster, and the beginner’s progression guide covers what to build before any of this matters.
