Last Z runs in seasons: every couple of months the map changes theme, a new resistance building and a new currency arrive, and the Sunday routine is replaced. Three named seasons have run so far, Everfrost Era, Dinosaur Origin and Moonlit Elegy, and the number your state gives each one depends on whether it played the dropped desert season before them.
- The seasons so far: Everfrost Era (frozen), Dinosaur Origin (Jurassic), Moonlit Elegy (vampire night)
- The numbers: states that played the desert count them 3, 4, 5; newer states count them 2, 3, 4
- Before them: Season 1, the base game, and the Desert Guardian season the publisher dropped
- After them: Season 6, listed in the game’s hub as Coming Soon with no name yet
- What every season shares: a four-state group, a map reset, a resistance building, a resource building, three power buildings, and a layer of its own events
Every season, by name and both numbers
| Season | Theme | Number on states that played Desert | Number on newer states | Length | The page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | The base game: the launch map, the Capital, a Season Tally at the end | 1 | 1 | the beginner’s progression guide | |
| Desert Guardian | Desert, resource plots, a Virus Institute; dropped by the publisher, so newer states never played it | 2 | about 80 days | none | |
| Everfrost Era | Frozen tundra, Bio Lab and Smart Greenhouses, Frostbanes and Yetis, Frozen Rescue, Snowman Mania, the Arctic Icepit | 3 | 2 | about ten weeks | Everfrost Era |
| Dinosaur Origin | Jurassic jungle, Biotech Lab and Bio Greenhouses, Stegosaurus and Ancient Dinos, Hatch of Legends, the Fossil Album, Trade Hubs, Volcano War | 4 | 3 | 91 days | Dinosaur Origin |
| Moonlit Elegy | Vampire night that grows an hour a week, Serum Lab and Shadow Spring, the Mysterious Witch’s cards, Red Stars on Oliveira, Scarlett and Evelyn | 5 | 4 | about 71 days | Moonlit Elegy |
| Season 6 | Not yet named; Coming Soon in the game’s hub | 6 | 5 | this page, when it has a name |
Seasons run per state, so your state’s season is on its own Event Center countdown, and the state next to yours may be a season behind or ahead.
Why the numbers don’t match
The game’s second season was Desert Guardian, a desert map with resource plots to capture and a Virus Institute to build. The publisher dropped it and renumbered, so states that opened after the desert went from the base game straight into Everfrost and call it Season 2, while the states that played the desert call Everfrost Season 3. Every season since carries two numbers for the same reason, and the game’s own reward items use the older state’s number (“S5 Awakening Badge” in Moonlit Elegy). Each season page on this site leads with the higher number and gives the other beside it, so a search for either lands on the right page.
Season 1: the base game
Season 1 has no theme and no season buildings. It’s the launch map: upgrade the Headquarters, train troops, recruit heroes, join an alliance, fight over the neutral cities and the Capital. It ends with a Season Tally of about six days, where the alliance’s reward is set by the cities it holds when the countdown hits zero, with the Capital’s holder at the top. What to build in it is the beginner’s progression guide and the diamond guide; the heroes to level are on the tier list.
Everfrost Era, Season 3 (or 2)
The frozen season. A Bio Lab sets which creatures you can fight, four Smart Greenhouses grow the Icebloom that feeds it, Frostbanes and Snow Leopards pay Frost Cores, and the week runs on Frozen Rescue, Hunter Yetis, a snowman that pays a permanent decoration and an Icepit with a fishing hole. Three heroes arrive a week apart, Bella, Alma and Harleyna, one per faction, and each carries the faction troop-HP talent that the next season’s heroes need beside them. The Everfrost Era page has the building order, the resistance checkpoints and the week by week.
Dinosaur Origin, Season 4 (or 3)
The Jurassic season, 91 days, the longest so far. A Biotech Lab in the Bio Lab’s place, four Bio Greenhouses growing Fern Leaves, Stegosaurus and Velociraptors paying Cretaceous Scales and Ancient Dino Eggs, and a Sunday that belongs to the Ancient Dinos, with a weekend egg shop, a hatched dinosaur that buffs your troops, a Fossil Album and the season’s Dino Egg Defense siege. Three heroes two weeks apart, Licia, Liliana and Dodomeki (Yu Chan, Queenie and Amber on other regions’ clients), each paired with the Everfrost hero of her faction. Trade Hubs and Volcano War both arrived with this season and have their own pages. The Dinosaur Origin page has the lot.
Moonlit Elegy, Season 5 (or 4)
The vampire season, about 71 days. Night Falls three times a day and grows an hour longer each week until the map is in Endless Night from week 8; a Serum Lab and a Shadow Spring replace the lab and greenhouses; Werewolves and Succubi pay Shadow Blood Crystals and Demon Stones; and a Mysterious Witch trades Demon Stones for affection and a deck of 52 Moonlight cards that buff your troops until the season ends. No new hero: instead Red Stars, six to ten, on Oliveira, Scarlett and Evelyn, with Awakening Badges. The Moonlit Elegy page has the week by week, the Witch and the Red Star lines.
The events that belong to seasons
Some events only exist inside a season and are sections of that season’s page: Frozen Rescue, Snowman Mania and the Icepit in Everfrost; the Ancient Dinos, Hatch of Legends, the Fossil Album, the Bio Institute Shop and Dino Egg Defense in Dinosaur Origin; Night Falls, the Mysterious Witch, Seal the Countess and the Endless Night Duke in Moonlit Elegy. Three season events are big enough for pages of their own: Glory War, the Tuesday alliance war from Season 2 onward; Trade Hubs, the Monday, Wednesday and Friday shop contests; and Volcano War, the ten-day state war. Everything else, the Alliance Duel, Capital Clash, Canyon Clash and the rest, runs through every season unchanged.
What’s next
The game’s hub lists Season 6 as Coming Soon and gives no name, theme or date. Three seasons in, the shape is reliable: a themed map with every city neutral, a four-state group, a building that sets which creatures you can fight and a building that produces the currency to raise it, three power buildings last, a season currency or two, a hero system (new heroes or stars on old ones), and a Sunday routine that replaces the last one. What carries from season to season is also reliable: your Headquarters, troops, research, gear and heroes, your Mastery level, and whatever permanent decoration the season paid; what goes is the season buildings, the resistance, the city ownership and the unspent season currency.
So the preparation for any new season is the same: spend the old season’s currency before it closes, get to Mastery 30 so you can choose a tree, bank diamonds for whatever shop the season brings, and keep the hero you’ll need at five stars. This page gets the name and the page link the day Season 6 has one.
