Amelia is the hero whose third skill speeds up all your research, account-wide, with 90 minutes of free research time on top, and that alone is reason to level her to 30 even if she never marches.
- Class: DPS
- Faction: Wings of Dawn (Shooter troops)
- Rarity: orange (S)
- Arrived: the base roster
- In one line: a sniper with a research skill that works for the whole account
Skill numbers on this page are the level 30 values, which is the cap.

What Amelia does in Last Z
Amelia fights with a rifle and a scope. Assassin Focus raises the damage of her normal attacks to a damage factor of 1500 at the cap. Precision Blast is her active: she marks three targets at random and detonates them for explosive damage to each and everything nearby, at damage factor 2400, and her fourth star doubles the marks. Her talent, Potential Unleashed, buffs her own attack, defence and troop capacity.
Scientist is the reason she’s on most players’ must-level list. It’s a Global Effect that raises research speed by 40% at full level and extends free research time by 90 minutes, and it applies to your base whether she’s deployed or sitting in the barracks. Every technology you queue from the day you unlock it finishes sooner.
So there are two Amelias, the same way there are two Sophias. The one in a Wings of Dawn squad, marking targets beside Laura and Nyx. And the one who never leaves the barracks and still saves you hours of research every week. Most accounts run the second one first.
Is Amelia worth it for F2P?
Yes, and the maths is simple. Scientist unlocks at hero level 30 and works account-wide from that moment. Levels and skill books come from play, and every point you put into the skill is a percentage off every research timer you’ll ever queue. Research is the slowest system in the game after construction, and a 40% speed boost at the cap is the single largest research bonus any hero gives you.
Her stars matter less than her level. They add free research time, more speed and a resource discount, but the base effect at level 30 is where most of the value sits.
Amelia’s skills and stats
| Skill | Type | Unlocks at | What it does at level 30 | What each star adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assassin Focus | Normal Attack Boost | hero level 1 | Increases normal attacks’ damage factor to 1500. | +90, +90, +90, then +120 and +210 to the damage factor |
| Precision Blast | Active Skill | hero level 20 | Marks 3 targets at random, dealing explosive damage to the targets and nearby enemies at damage factor 2400. | +150 damage factor, a burning effect on the explosion, +150 damage factor, double the marks at 30 less damage each, then +300 damage factor |
| Scientist | Global Effect | hero level 30 | Research speed +40% and free research time +90 minutes, account-wide. | Free research time +15 minutes, research speed +10%, free research time +60 minutes, basic resource cost in research -5%, then -10% |
| Potential Unleashed | Exclusive Talent | hero level 50 and 4 stars | Self ATK +10%, DEF +10% and troop capacity +5%. | The talent itself; no star steps |
Her attack, defence and troop size climb with her level, stars, skill levels and gear, so the live figures are on her hero card in your own game. As an orange hero she starts well above a purple one and caps higher.
The upgrade order that gets the most out of her:
- Level her to 30. Scientist switches on there.
- Skill books into Scientist. Every level is a bigger research bonus for the whole account.
- Stars, as fragments allow. The first and third add free research time, the second adds speed, the fourth and fifth cut research costs.
- Level 50 and four stars for Potential Unleashed, if she fights for you.
- Precision Blast, then Assassin Focus. Her own damage.
Best build and gear for Amelia
Hero gear fills four slots: Gun, Helmet, Armor and Boots. The Gun boosts attack, the Helmet attack and defence, Armor defence and troop HP, and Boots a mix of all three. Gear levels up with enhancement alloys and promotes with power cores.
If Amelia is your research skill and nothing more, give her no gear at all. Scientist doesn’t read her stats. If she fights, build her as the attacker she is: Gun first, Helmet second, then Boots, Armor last.
How to get Amelia fragments
Amelia comes through recruitment tickets and the shop’s special offers, and the sources that track her note she has also appeared in a Lucky Chest event and in the hero pass. Once she’s unlocked, the orange fragments the game pays out on a schedule are what you’ll feed her. Most of them are universal and work on any S hero; a few are tied to one hero, so check the item before you count on it.
- Daily Tasks. 150 points on the Daily Tasks page pays one orange fragment.
- Full Preparedness. 18 medals trade for two orange fragments.
- Gold Trucks. Sending and looting them is the steady source most players overlook.
- Weekly gifts. Six orange fragments a week, claimed, not earned.
- The Z Points store sells S fragments five at a time for diamonds. The diamond guide covers whether that’s a good use of them.
- VIP 10 adds daily orange fragments, a route for spenders rather than a plan.
Amelia’s best formation and faction pairing
A formation carries five heroes and their troops, and Wings of Dawn heroes field Shooters. Keep the squad Wings of Dawn for the faction’s own bonuses: Scarlett’s per-hero attack and defence and the capacity at five, Nyx’s +10% Shooter damage from the barracks, Alma’s +10% troop HP at five. The faction triangle applies: Wings of Dawn beats Blood Rose, Blood Rose beats Guard of Order, and Guard of Order beats Wings of Dawn.
Who to put beside her, keeping the squad Wings of Dawn:
- Scarlett first, for the squad bonus.
- Laura as the defender.
- Nyx for the Shooter damage buff.
- Queenie for raw damage, or Alma for the troop HP at five.
Amelia vs the alternatives at the same role
| Hero | Faction | Rarity | What she’s for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amelia | Wings of Dawn | orange | An attacker, and the research skill on top |
| Sophia | Blood Rose | orange | An attacker, and the construction skill on top |
| Queenie | Wings of Dawn | orange | The Season 4 damage dealer, built to hit and nothing else |
Amelia and Sophia are the same idea in two factions: an orange attacker carrying the account skill for one of the base’s two slowest systems. An account wants both at 30 whatever faction it runs. Inside Wings of Dawn, Queenie is the better pick when the slot is about damage and nothing else; Amelia keeps her value from the barracks either way.
Where she lands against the whole roster is on the tier list. For what to do with her in your first day, the beginner’s progression guide covers it.
